The St. Louis Metro Singers is a nonprofit, volunteer, civic chorus that provides opportunities for members of the community from all walks of life who share a love of singing to learn and perform a varied repertoire of quality choral music throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area.
The St. Louis Metro Singers traces its musical heritage back to 1953 with The Cosmopolitan Singers, a choral group founded and directed by Dr. Helen Louise Graves, also known as “Teach.” Upon the death of Dr. Graves in 1987, this group was dissolved and succeeded by the St. Louis Metro Singers.
The Chorus is made up of community members of all ages who love to sing choral music. Throughout the year, we perform a wide range of pieces – including sacred, gospel, Broadway hits and popular songs across the decades. Our seasons often include a holiday concert series, spring concert series and fundraising events at a variety of locations in the metro area. Over the years, our Chorus has performed with the St. Louis Symphony, the Compton Heights Concert Band and our holiday program is recorded annually by KMOX radio and aired on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
